Despite the delay of the national Roadmap “Freedom Day” by 4 weeks, we are still able to go ahead with the Bike Ride for 26-27th June. We have discussed the COVID control measures to ensure we have a COVID-secure environment with Wiltshire Police, and revised our risk assessment in accordance with their comments. We have 19 teams registered so far and over 140 riders, with many volunteers to act as marshals. The Health and Safety of the riders, volunteers, and others attending the Bike Ride weekend is paramount, and the risk assessments and event safety plan are on our policies page.

Whilst camping is permitted, everyone must adhere to social distancing rules and group limits for outdoor (maximum 30) and indoor spaces. Team captains and members of the Bike Ride committee will enforce these rules, and the co-operation of anyone coming along to the bike ride is appreciated in these difficult times. Remember and observe the Government public health guidance – Hands, Face, Space & Fresh Air – and we will have a fun and successful Bike Ride (not a Race!)

2021 Ride – Daylight Hours only

This year’s event is taking place the weekend of 26th/27th June 2021, but in order for the committee to safely support an event which will comply with Covid regulations in place at the time, we will be running the event from midday Saturday 26th June until sunset, and recommence at daybreak on Sunday 27th June, riding until noon that day.  We anticipate the event will therefore include approximately 17 cycling hours, as opposed to the previous 24 hours.

We hope to be able to make this community event as successful as previously, and will as always be grateful for as many volunteers in the form of marshals, admin helpers and ad hoc helpers to set the event up as possible.
