Marshals Needed

The Crudwell 24 Hour Bike Ride is being planned for the weekend of 26-27th June, being run during daylight hours only. We have around 90 marshalling slots to fill, and so far have just around 40 filled. We have had problems with e-mails from our Bike Ride Marshals e-mail account, as a number of people have told us they replied to the original request sent out in April but these replies haven’t been received.

If you can help with a 2 hour marshalling slot over the weekend then please e-mail both Bike Ride Admin on and Bike Ride Marshals on indicating what time(s) you are available for.

As we enter June then the need to fill the marshalling rota becomes more critical. Your help will allow us to run the Crudwell Bike Ride, a great community event which brings people together (in a covid-secure environment) and raises money for charities, including our village hall.

2021 Ride – Daylight Hours only

This year’s event is scheduled to take place the weekend of 26th/27th June 2021, but in order for the committee to safely support an event which will comply with Covid regulations in place at the time, we are intending to run the event from midday Saturday 26th June until sunset, and recommence at daybreak on Sunday 27th June, riding until noon that day.  We anticipate the event will therefore include approximately 17 cycling hours, as opposed to the previous 24 hours.

Although we cannot confirm at this stage that camping will be allowed, we expect this will be possible, if the National Roadmap dates are met. We hope to be able to make this community event as successful as previously, and will as always be grateful for as many volunteers in the form of marshals, admin helpers and ad hoc helpers to set the event up as possible.
